It adds an ENG-style operation to your camera setup, making it possible for you to get your shots right at all times. Since the grip helps with the provision of electronic control for the drive unit instead of mechanical control, you can mount it to the side of the lens with the aid of the provided screw-on rosette.
Alternatively, you can mount it on an ARRI standard rosette in another place on your shoulder rig. You only need to be sure that the 20-pin cable is still connected to the drive unit of the lens.
