This is a compact, manual-focus, wide-angle lens.  Like many of Nikon's lenses, this lens has legacy compatibility that will let you use it with almost any Nikon 35mm film camera or DSLR.  The mental flange ("bunny ears") will pair with the aperture pin on a older Nikon F, and the rear aperture ring has the necessary notch to pair with later SLRs (film or digital).  Always research a specific camera-lens combination before you mount a lens on a new camera for the first time.

This lens is an incredible bargain compared to a current, autofocus 24mm from Nikon.  For many purposes, having autofocus on a wide-angle lens adds a pretty minimal return.  This manual-focus lens will get you sweeping streetscapes or landscapes at a great price.
